In many ways, it’s the oldest story in the world. Niall Harbison and Tina, the dog who changed the world met in the streets and fell in love. Their bond was solidly created as they both recovered from tragic pasts. What makes this book different is that Tina was a Golden Retriever once used as a one dog puppy mill and Niall was all too human, recovering from a substance abuse habit that had once left him critically ill in an ICU.
Tina and Niall Harbison both found joy at Happy Doggo Land. For Tina, it was the beautiful chaos of chasing tennis balls. For Niall, it was watching tina play with the balls – 100 of them. Together, they swam in the ocean to wind down at the end of the day and Tina learned to care for another puppy as a foster Mom. A good life is usually a simple life.

Niall’s book is about so much more than Tina, though. His goal is to fix the street dog problem in Thailand. To be sure, there are a lot of dogs in Thailand who were born or abandoned on the street. Feeding the dogs and ensuring that they are vaccinated isn’t enough when new litters arrive daily. And yet, despite the enormous challenge, progress is being made.
Despite the topic, the book is not sappy. Niall is realistic enough to allow you to appreciate the success stories but he has learned to look for the tennis balls in life – a lesson from Tina shared with us by Niall.

Caring for dogs is not for everyone but everyone has passion that makes the world a little better. Find it and the tennis balls will show up mysteriously like they did for Tina.
